Three bodies were retrieved from Grand Anicut Canal in Thanjavur on Tuesday, September 9.
According to police, people taking bath in the canal near Pookara Street noticed the bodies of two women and a boy floating on the river water and brought them to the bank.
Subsequently, Thanjavur Taluk Police were alerted and they shifted the bodies of the women and the boy to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital for postmortem. The identity of the deceased persons were yet to be ascertained, police said.
