Quite a few Israelis, mainly in the part of the political spectrum ranging from the center to the Zionist left, frequently declare that since October 7, they have lost the ability to empathize with the Palestinians. That's it, they have run out of compassion. What I want to know is, when did they ever have compassion, and what did it look like?
