Much has been made of Israeli solidarity in the months after the October 7 massacre. The civil mobilization to fill the gaps left by our dysfunctional government – in extricating and rescuing victims, in rehabilitating them both mentally and physically, in caring for evacuees and more – was indeed an impressive and far from trivial display of camraderie.
