The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday that it has concluded an investigation into four Carabinieri police officers over an alleged cover-up regarding the case of Ramy Elgaml, an 19-year-old who died on a scooter at the end of a chase on November 24, 2024.
The four officers are two who arrived at the scene shortly after the fatal accident and two others who allegedly forced an eye-witness to cancel a video of the crash.
Italian prosecutors often given notification that a probe has been concluded before they request indictments.
Last month prosecutors concluded a probe into vehicular homicide regarding the Carabiniere who was driving the pursuing car and the friend of Elgaml's, Fares Bouzidi, who was driving the scooter and survived the crash.
The fatal accident caused days of rioting in a heavily immigrant populated working class district of Milan.
