One of Italy's historic gay groups on Friday said they would march in Budapest on Saturday despite Prime Minister Viktor Orban's ban on this year's Budapest Pride event.
"Tomorrow we will march in the Budapest Pride, after Orban's statements we will not back down one millimeter", Mario Colamarino, president of the Circolo Mario Mieli and spokesman for Roma Pride, told ANSA in Budapest with a delegation for the big Pride parade banned by Orban.
"We have just arrived in Budapest and before we had time to land they did some checks on us as soon as we got off the plane.
"At Customs they made me open my suitcase and asked me what this banner is.
But I see activists from all over Europe coming here, ordinary people, as well as politicians", added Colamarino.
