Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Monday called on Israel to end its offensive in Gaza, saying war against Hamas sparked by the October 7 attacks had been won.
"We are friends of Israel but we say 'enough war now', it is time for a truce," Tajani told Sky television.
"Israel has won the war against Hamas and the civilian population of Gaza is now suffering too much.
