The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have agreed to strengthen collaboration in investigating the alleged diversion and mismanagement of funds provided under United States government-supported programmes in Nigeria. The decision was reached on Thursday, September 10, 2026, when Marcus Maccain, Assistant Law Enforcement Attaché of the FBI, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the office of the Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Bawa Usman Kaltungo.
