Andrew Tulloch, the AI researcher Meta once chased with a pay package reportedly worth up to $1.5 billion, is leaving the company after less than a year. He is joining Anthropic, the maker of Claude.

Anthropic listed a sales job specifically targeting Meta, a major customer but also a rival in the AI race. It has since deleted the posting.

Tulloch timed his departure to follow the launch of Meta's new AI agent, Muse, which the company released on Tuesday
