Tulloch timed his departure to follow the launch of Meta's new AI agent, Muse, which the company released on Tuesday

Andrew Tulloch, the AI researcher who returned to Meta $META after the company dangled a compensation package potentially valued at up to $1.5 billion, is now leaving to join Anthropic, according to The Wall Street Journal. He had been at Meta for roughly 11 months.
Tulloch had been working at Meta's TBD lab, part of the company's Superintelligence Labs division and a central piece of CEO Mark Zuckerberg's AI strategy, according to Semafor. The lab operates under Alexandr Wang, the co-founder and former CEO of Scale AI. His personal website lists his position at Meta as "working on superintelligence," according to Gizmodo.
