One in two Greek students complete middle school unable to perform basic mathematical reasoning, and four in 10 cannot understand simple physical phenomena or basic texts, according to the OECD’s PISA 2025 survey released this week.

Greece will take part for the first time in the OECD’s PISA financial literacy assessment in 2029, testing 15-year-olds’ economic knowledge against peers, the ministry said.
