A floating forest island appeared on Williston Lake in British Columbia this summer. Boaters discovered the unusual landmass, which was not on any maps. Satellite imagery confirmed its existence, and it later reappeared after a disappearance. The island is thought to be composed of accumulated woody debris and vegetation.
