Singapore will provide nearly S$70,000 (US$55,153) in direct support for every citizen child up to age 17 as it tackles a record-low fertility rate of 0.87. The package includes child credits, grants, childcare subsidies, parental leave and housing support.

A new package will provide every Singaporean child with the same level of support regardless of birth order, unlike the existing Baby Bonus Scheme.

The government will fully bear the bill for increasing childcare leave for Singaporean parents, instead of co-sharing it with employers.
