Top-ranked Jannik Sinner withdrew from the 2026 U.S. Open due to a lingering knee injury, the Italian tennis star announced Friday on social media.

Sinner, 25, is the reigning Wimbledon champion and won the U.S. Open in 2024 before falling in last year’s final to Alcaraz.

The world No. 1 has been managing the injury since Wimbledon.
