The FDA classified a recall of 1.5 million eggs as Class I due to Salmonella risks. Midwest Poultry Services initiated the recall.

The recall was announced in July and impacted states including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mississippi.

The recall was reclassified as Class I this week, the FDA's highest severity level, after the agency tied the eggs to 98 illnesses across 17 states
