The tax championed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani has drawn the ire of President Donald Trump, who said it must be stopped and vowed to explore federal options.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's pied-à-terre tax was temporarily blocked by a judge after homeowners sued the city.

Trump raged against the tax on second homes for out-of-state residents pushed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Plaintiffs said that Mamdani incorrectly identified their primary residences as possibly subject to the new tax, among other issues.
