Activist Sonam Wangchuk will leave Medanta Hospital on Monday after a 26-day fast. He plans to visit Rajghat to honor Mahatma Gandhi before his departure. Wangchuk had previously fasted at Jantar Mantar supporting NEET examination protestors. The 36-day agitation concluded with the Education Minister's resignation on Saturday. Wangchuk was moved to Medanta Hospital following a court order.

Wangchuk said that he did so ‘after a long negotiation on various conditions and in view of possible violence in the country’.

The real test is whether the public still cares about a just cause that has been silenced.
