The average price US drivers pay for gas hit $4 a gallon on Monday, only the second time it has reached that benchmark since the war in Iran disrupted global oil supplies.

Global oil prices briefly touched $90 per gallon early on Monday before both countries signaled a willingness to resume talks.

U.S. gas prices have jumped to an average of $4 a gallon again as the U.S. and Iran launch more attacks.

AAA reported the national average price for a regular tank of gas to be $4.003 per gallon, the highest in weeks.
