The UAE condemned the incident as a “blatant attack” - which followed a five-hour barrage of US strikes on Iranian military bases. Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed the tankers were “offending supertankers” that ignored warnings and attempted to pass through a “mined route”. Tehran also launched missiles at Jordan and Bahrain, claiming to have hit weapons storage depots and a facility housing US forces.
