His decision to leave stems from the role not developing as he and FSG had anticipated, particularly as the multi-club strategy did not materialise as extensively as initially explored. Edwards' departure coincides with sporting director Richard Hughes, whom he appointed, also being expected to leave Liverpool for Al-Hilal.
