Netflix is pushing deeper into the short-form video territory dominated by TikTok and YouTube, striking licensing deals with a slate of major US media publishers to carry bite-sized content on its platform.

Variety, Rolling Stone and other publishing brands in Penske Media's PMX unit have reached a licensing pact with Netflix for video series.

The offerings, which range from three-minute shorts to 20-minute episodes, will be featured on the streamer’s homepage starting Aug. 3.
