A prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has told the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Abuja that the $6.23million allegedly released by the apex bank for a foreign election observer mission was “pure theft.” The witness, Okpoziakpo Eloho, who testified on Thursday as the 14th prosecution witness before Justice H. Muazu, said investigations by the police revealed that the stated purpose for the release of the funds was fraudulent.
