A temporary slowdown appears to be emerging in the large volume of low-value online imports from China into Greece following the introduction of a €3 EU duty per customs code on small parcels worth under €150 imported from third countries, which came into effect on July 1.

Under the new framework, a temporary customs fee of 3 euros per product category will be imposed on shipments valued up to 150 euros.

The European Union will slap a three-euro ($3.40) duty on cheap parcels entering the 27-nation bloc on Wednesday to stem a surge in low-value packages, mainly from China.
