Punjab's Sikh MLAs and ministers appeared before the Akal Takht in Amritsar following a summons regarding the anti-sacrilege law. The temporal seat objected to the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, citing it was enacted without consulting the Sikh Panth and contained objectionable provisions. Non-Sikh ministers submitted written views, while Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was not summoned.
