As the UK faces a record-setting heatwave with red weather warnings issued, the RSCPA has shared steps with pet owners on how to prevent their dogs from overheating. Last year, Inspiring Vet Care, reported that their practices dealt with 355 incidents of suspected heatstroke, with 66% of those occurring over the summer months. To combat overheating, Dr David Tweedle shared the three steps dog owners must take to help reduce their pets’ body temperature and save their life. “Remember, if you keep your cool, we can keep pets cool,” he said.
