The Vegas Golden Knights hired former AHL coach Ryan Craig to replace former coach John Tortorella, the franchise announced Wednesday.

Tortorella was hired with eight games left in the regular season and then led the Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final.

Coach John Tortorella, who led the Vegas Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final, will not return next season, the franchise announced Tuesday.

The Vegas Golden Knights have promoted Ryan Craig to head coach, replacing John Tortorella. Craig has been the organization’s American Hockey League coach in Henderson, Nevada.

Craig amassed a 96-95-13-12 record as coach of Vegas' AHL team, leading them to their first playoff appearance since 2022 this past season.
