Indian IT services and technology company HCLTech led the funding round with a US$150 million investment and will work with Sarvam to develop language models and AI solutions for its global clients.

Sarvam raised $234m led by HCLTech ($150m) at a $1.5bn valuation, making the Bengaluru sovereign-AI company India's newest AI unicorn.

Bessemer Venture Partners, and existing investors Khosla Ventures and Peak XV Partners also participated in the round that values Sarvam at $1.5 billion.
