EFCC Witness Admits Lying Under Oath In Agunloye's $6Billion Mambilla Contract Trial
The ongoing trial involving former Minister of Power, Dr. Olu Agunloye, over the Mambilla Power Project took a dramatic turn on Monday after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) fifth prosecution witness (PW5), Mr. John Illya, admitted during cross-examination that part of his earlier testimony was false. The development came as the prosecution continued presenting its case before the court, amid lingering disputes over documents relating to the minutes of a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on May 21, 2003.
