The Israeli army reported the attack just hours after Tehran had threatened to retaliate for a new Israeli strike on Beirut, Lebanon.

On Sunday, Israel launched airstrikes in Beirut's southern suburbs. Iran retaliated with its own strike on Israel, which led to Monday morning's attack by Israel on Iran.

There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage in the attack, the first by Iran on Israel since a ceasefire took effect on April 8.
