Iran’s Foreign Ministry says its armed forces struck several “military targets” north of the “occupied Palestinian territories”, after accusing Israel and the US of repeatedly violating the April ceasefire.

Tehran had warned of retaliation after Israel on Sunday struck Beirut’s southern suburbs without warning, in defiance of Washington’s request days ago to stand down.

Iran says this is the start of a week of continuous attacks on Israel, with the Israeli military saying they are continuing to intercept missiles.

Israel Defense Forces said Sunday night its air force “struck military targets belonging to the Iranian terror regime in western and central Iran."
