Japan's SoftBank on Saturday announced plans to build 3.1 GW of AI data centers in the northern Hauts-de-France region by 2031.

SoftBank Group plans to invest up to €75 billion to build data centers in France, aiming to add 5 gigawatts of capacity, with 3.1 gigawatts targeted by 2031.

The first phase delivers 3.1 GW in northern France by 2031 for €45B. Macron personally courted Son, who was "impressed" by the president's commitment.
