Stablecoin issuer Circle has frozen $12.6 million in stablecoins linked to the Zama privacy protocol, a decision that was criticized by onchain analyst ZachXBT.

Circle blacklisted Zama's cUSDC smart contract on Ethereum, freezing $12.6M in USDC linked to Overnight Finance rug pull allegations.

Zama CEO Rand Hindi said the protocol's confidential USDC contract was "caught in a crossfire" and that his team is investigating the freeze.
