Peter Murrell pleaded guilty to spending embezzled SNP funds on luxury homeware, games and gadgets including a £3,200 coffee machine, telescope and designer umbrellas

Peter Murrell, the estranged husband of former Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon, has pleaded guilty to embezzling over 400,000 pounds from the Scottish National Party.

The 61-year-old, who was SNP chief executive for 22 years, is behind bars after admitting his guilt at the High Court in Edinburgh this morning.
