A 13-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty while swimming at a reservoir in West Yorkshire during the Bank Holiday heatwave, police confirmed on Tuesday.

Emergency services scrambled to Rother Valley Park in Rotherham, Yorkshire, shortly before 7pm on Monday as temperatures soared beyond 30C.

Emergency services are at Leadbeater Dam near to Halifax where the search has been underway for the boy,13, following reports he got into difficulty in the water.
