NewsUK NewsWest Yorkshire PoliceEmergency services are at Leadbeater Dam near to Halifax where the search has been underway for the boy,13, following reports he got into difficulty in the water.08:08, 26 May 2026Updated 08:13, 26 May 2026The body of a 13-year-old boy has tragically been pulled from the water following a desperate search and rescue effort at a Yorkshire dam.‌Emergency services are at Leadbeater Dam near to Halifax in Calderdale where the search has been underway for the youngster after he is understood to have got in difficulty in the water.‌A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At 3.18pm yesterday (25 May) police were called to Leadbeater Dam on Lumb Lamb, Halifax to reports a teenage boy was in difficulty in the water.‌"The body of a 13-year-old boy was pulled from the water. He was taken to hospital and was sadly pronounced dead. Enquiries are ongoing by Calderdale CID, however there aren’t believed to be any suspicious circumstances."Article continues belowThis is a Breaking News story.
