Shares are mixed in Asia after the U.S. military said it carried out what it called “self-defense” strikes in southern Iran, including on missile launch sites and boats placing mines.

The Australian sharemarket opened lower after the US military said it carried out “self-defence” strikes in southern Iran, triggering doubts about an imminent end to the war.

“U.S. forces conducted self-defense strikes in southern Iran today to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces."
