Peter Ibe, a constitutional lawyer, has emerged as the African Action Congress (AAC) candidate for the Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections. Ibe was affirmed unopposed after the party adopted direct primaries held at the open field of Sacred Heart Primary School, Agwagune, Biase Local Government Area, which served as the collation centre.

A candidate said the AAC may not boast of massive structures like the bigger political parties, but remains committed to principles and people-oriented governance.
