More than one million people hit the streets of west London as Adults Day commenced today. A sea of colourful costumes, floats, dancing and music were seen in celebration of Caribbean culture.

In an update at 8pm on Sunday, the force said dozens of arrests were made on the opening day, including 15 for assaults on police.

The celebrations continue with the adult's parade, sound systems and live performances on Monday.

Scotland Yard said there were 200 arrests on Sunday and 328 on Monday, up from 349 last year and the highest number of arrests on record.
