Dangerous XL bully dogs are being advertised online despite a ban on selling or exchanging them. Restrictions on the breed came into force on Sunday, making it illegal to breed, sell, advertise, give, exchange, abandon or let the dogs stray in England and Wales.
Owners are required to keep their dogs on a lead and muzzled when in public. The government said it introduced the restrictions after 23 people were killed in dog attacks over the past three years, many involving XL bullies.
Despite the rules, desperate owners are using social media to try to find homes for their dangerous dogs.
In one Facebook appeal a new home was sought on Sunday for a dog called Enzo from Northampton.
