Students who blocked a women’s rights documentary at Edinburgh University face disciplinary action after a freedom of speech warning from their principal.
Last week pro-trans activists picketed a screening of the film Adult Human Female and prevented feminists entering the campus venue.
The demonstration led to the event’s cancellation for the second time and led to claims that the university had failed to uphold freedom of expression.
Sir Peter Mathieson, the principal and vice-chancellor, has called for “all views to be heard”. In a statement on the university website, he said: “I would like to express my extreme disappointment that . . . we were left with no alternative but to stop the screening of Adult Human Female because of safety concerns for attendees.
