The United States is monitoring the situation after North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Saturday, with U.S. Pacific Command saying it is consulting closely with Washington’s allies and partners over the latest launch.
U.S. Pacific Command said it was aware of the missile launch and that its initial assessment indicated that the incident did not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel or territory, or to its allies in the region.
“We are aware of the recent missile launch and are consulting closely with our allies and partners,” U.S. Pacific Command said in a statement.
“Based on current assessments, this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel or territory, or to our allies,” the command added.
