U.S. Indo-Pacific Command on Tuesday reaffirmed America's defense commitment to regional allies, hours after North Korea fired multiple close-range ballistic missiles and artillery rockets toward the Yellow Sea.
In a statement, the command said that it is aware of the missile launches and is consulting closely with allies and partners.

“Based on current assessments, this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel or territory, or to our allies," it said. "The United States remains committed to the defense of the U.S. homeland and our allies in the region."
