Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian has said Iran’s resistance to the US and Israel was rooted in its opposition to bullying and its support for the oppressed people, IRNA reported.
Addressing religious scholars, intellectuals and businesspeople in India on Friday, where he is attending the BRICS summit, Pezeshkian said “bullies, oppressors and those who rely on force eventually face defeat or destruction”.
He said individuals, families and rulers would be accountable for how they treated other people and whether they helped those in need, the report said.
Pezeshkian rejected the idea that a powerful government should be entitled to impose its will on other nations or compel them to follow its decisions.
He also said the United States is seeking to prevent nations from becoming independent, adding pressures, conflict and efforts to create divisions in Iran had increased since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the report said.
