Having music is one thing, but especially when streaming a DJ set, I wanted visuals that actually reacted to what I was playing instead of just having a static screen in the background.
I started looking around for existing solutions and eventually found Resolume. It could do a lot of what I wanted, but there were two major problems for me: it is paid software, and more importantly, it doesn't run natively on Linux.
