The Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom to October 3, 2026, following a high turnout of applicants in London and Manchester.
The Service said the exercise had been progressing smoothly at both centres despite initial challenges experienced on the first day.
In a statement signed by the NIS Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi and posted on the service’s X handle on Friday, the service said 1,477 Nigerians had been successfully processed and enrolled within the first four days of the exercise.
More than half of those enrolled had already had their passports produced and dispatched to their respective addresses, it added.
The extension was approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in response to the high turnout and growing demand for the intervention exercise.
