Leading Russian technology, AI, aviation, space, nuclear, heavy engineering, mining and banking companies are showcasing their technology at the maiden INNOPROM.India industrial fair (joint India-Russia exposition), as the two countries seek to expand industrial cooperation and boost joint projects that would also enable to reduce trade deficit.The three-day fair that opened on Wednesday featured Russian products and technologies across sectors including aviation, space, advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering and IT. PM Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin will undertake a joint visit to INNOPROM.India on Friday.Civil aviation is an emerging area of IndiaRussia partnership. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has a cooperation agreement with Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for the SJ-100 program in India. UAC will also supply six Ilyushin Il-114-300 aircraft to Indian regional carrier Flamingo Aerospace and three other regional airlines are in talks with UAC to sign agreements.Russia’s state space corporation Roscosmos and global nuclear major Rosatom is also represented at the fair. India’s space program has longstanding ties with Moscow since the Soviet period, with partnership continuing in areas including Gaganyan program.Other sectors being exhibited include industrial robots, detector technology used in nuclear power plants, smart devices and banking interoperability. Russia rich in critical minerals and rare earths also exhibited potential in this sector.India and Russia are intensifying efforts to reach the bilateral trade target of $100 billion. Russia is ready to expand technology-sharing and industrial cooperation with India, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Roman Chekushov said last week.The fair has brought together more than 120 Russian and Indian companies. The Ministry of Steel has set up the India Steel Pavilion as part of INNOPROM India 2026.The pavilion, themed “Forging Together - For Infinite Progress,” showcases the strength, growth story and achievements of the Indian steel sector. It highlights India’s journey towards becoming a global steel powerhouse while presenting the history, current engagements and future opportunities for India-Russia collaboration in areas such as coking coal, nickel, speciality steel, R&D and advanced steel technologies.INNOPROM. India is organized by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with support from Formika Events and the Confederation of Indian Industry. The Russian Trade Representation in India is also supporting the event. Several agreements between the two sides were reached at INNOPROM.India
