Visa showcased live agentic commerce payment experiences at Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on Thursday, partnering with Federal Bank, IndusInd Bank, RBL Bank, and fintechs including Razorpay, Paytm Payment Services, Cashfree Payments, and Pine Labs, among others. The demonstration allowed consumers to use natural-language prompts to move from product discovery to authenticated payment completion, spanning use cases such as travel bookings, food ordering, and online shopping. Payments were processed using Visa’s existing tokenisation infrastructure and Visa Payment Passkey authentication. The showcase covered both large retailers and smaller D2C and MSME merchants, with AI agents guiding consumers through choices while keeping humans in the loop at the payment stage.Visa cited industry projections estimating that AI agents could facilitate $3-5 trillion in global commerce transaction value by 2030.Suresh Sethi, Group Country Manager for India and South Asia at Visa, said the company intends to work with banks, fintechs, and merchants to build interoperable and scalable payment experiences as agentic commerce develops. The event, held at the Jio World Convention Centre, is one of the largest fintech gatherings globally. Visa's participation signals growing industry focus on embedding secure payment rails into AI-driven consumer experiences, particularly in India's fast-expanding digital payments market.Published on September 10, 2026
