Alexis Tsipras left open the possibility of postelection cooperation of ELAS with PASOK, saying the two parties are “not opponents” but “competitors.”

Speaking at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), Tsipras said that if his party finishes first and enters coalition talks, it will approach parties of the democratic opposition.

“If there is a response, there will be a government. If there is not, we will go to elections again,” he said.

Without citing a percentage, he added that his goal is the strategic defeat of the government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the next election.
