METLEN has reached an agreement with Copec S.A., through its subsidiary Copec Flux S.p.A., for the sale of the Tamarico II hybrid project in Chile’s Atacama region.The project combines a 165 MW solar photovoltaic plant with a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 725 MWh, expandable to 925 MWh. It leverages METLEN’s specialised expertise in developing integrated hybrid energy solutions that enhance power system flexibility and accelerate the integration of renewable energy sources.“Tamarico II is a prime example of how METLEN is turning its international expertise and many years of experience in Chile into mature, competitive energy infrastructure delivering tangible value to the local market. It also creates the conditions for the two companies to further expand their cooperation on new renewable energy and storage investments in Chile.According to the announcement, the agreement confirms METLEN’s ability to develop, construct, operate and ultimately monetise the value of its own renewable energy projects under its Asset Rotation model.Through M RESET, its Energy division, METLEN has developed strong international expertise in delivering complex renewable energy and storage projects. The company’s growing specialisation in hybrid projects further underscores its role as a leading provider of integrated energy solutions in international markets.
