The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal will provide an update on its councillor lists, branch mobilisation and campaign structures ahead of the November 4 local government elections.

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is expected to tackle internal disputes over councillor candidate lists and assess its election readiness when the party’s Provincial Task Team (PTT) briefs the media on Thursday.

The briefing follows an extraordinary leadership session and a region-by-region assessment of the ANC’s structures across all 11 regions in the province ahead of the November 4 local government elections.

ANC provincial spokesperson Sifiso Sonjica said the party had been assessing branch mobilisation and the finalisation of candidate lists submitted to the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC).

The party is expected to explain how it plans to resolve internal disputes, enforce party discipline and address operational hurdles before campaigning intensifies.
