A flight from Manchester, England, to the Greek island of Rhodes was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Thessaloniki after two passengers allegedly behaved aggressively toward crew members and fellow travelers, state broadcaster ERT reported on Thursday.
The two British nationals, aged 39 and 42, allegedly caused a disturbance during the flight and repeatedly refused to follow instructions from the cabin crew and pilot.
The 39-year-old also filmed members of the cabin crew, while the 42-year-old had earlier been caught smoking in an aircraft lavatory, according to ERT.
The disturbance prompted the pilot to divert the flight to Thessaloniki’s Macedonia Airport, where the two men were arrested by airport police Wednesday night.
They are expected to appear before the relevant judicial authorities.
